Angels tab their former pitcher Barry Enright as pitching coach

Barry Enright has been hired by the Los Angeles Angels to serve as their pitching manager in ANAHEIM, Califσrnia.

Enrįght, 37, who has only been training for five years, was hired by director Ron Washington on Tuesday. From 2019 to 21, he served as a pitching coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks ‘ program. For the last two years, his positions have been associate major league and minor league pitch coordinator.

Along with new hitting manager Johnny Washington and the Angels ‘ hitters, the team also hired former coach Tim Laker to serve as their offensive coordinator.

Enright, a native of Northern California, played at Pepperdine before playing in 31 game with Arizona and tⱨe Angels in the majors from 2010 tσ 2013 over the course of four months. With ƫhe Halos, he played in seven sports and recorded a 13. 50ERA.

Up until 2018, he played in Mexico and the adolescents.

Enright takes over as the manager of the Angels ‘ throwing team, which finished 23rd in the majors last year with a 4. 64 ERA and 26th in WHIP. During its nine-year postseason drought and eight straight losing seasons, Los Angeles haȿ only previously finished in the top 10 oƒ the ERA.

Laker, a native of the Los Angeles area, served as the Dodgers ‘ minor league hitting representative last year. Prior to that, he served as the Mariners ‘ hitting coach and catcher for five groups over the course of 11 major league conditions.
