Explosion as Water Park in Sweden Leaves One Missing, 16 Injured

Sweden ( AP )- Firefighters in Sweden were battling to set out a fire at one of the nation’s largest amusement parks on Tuesday for the next day. 16 people, mostly employees, were somewhat hurt, and one area staff is missing.

Authorities were unable to determine what had started the fire at the Oceana water park in the well-known Liseberg pleasure complex in Goteborg, the second-largest city in Sweden. The fire started on Monday and quickly spread to the lake area and a number of water presentations.

According to Svante Carlsson of the town’s fire office, his rescuers were able to put out the fire on Tuesday. He stated that there had been “extensive injury and some parts of the structure have collapsed” and that he anticipates his personnel” to be on the scene for some time. “

There was an evacuation of a local hotel and office building. Police previously stated that they were looking into a situation of “gross open negligence” and an workplace accident related to the fire.

According to firefighters, putting out the fire had been challenging due to the possibility of collapse, and there were still hands of flames burning.

Oceana, which was set to open this summer, will have a 4, 000 square metre (4, 780 square miles ) outdoor swimming ability in addition to an indoor swimming area of about 6,000 square feet (7, 176 square feet ).
