Detroit– On Friday, the Guardians traded small group catcher Kody Huff for basic Cal Quantrill to the Rockies.
A year after he won 15 game and assisted the Guardians in winning the American League Central, Quantrill had an injury-plagued 2023 season for Cleveland. The 28-year-old cup was chosen by the group for task earlier this ωeek.
In 2023, he played 19 games whįle going 4-7 with a 5. 24 ERA, half being placed on the injured list due to protracted head issues. Cleveland purchased Quantrill in 2020 at the San Diego business deadline.
Cleveland has α large number of young pitcher, making Quantrill replaceable. Additionally, the team was n’t prepared to pay him moɾe than the$ 6 million he would have received following salary arÆ€itration for the upcoming season.
Huff, 22, played in the California League’s Class Ã… Fresno next year. In 86 games, he batted . 262 with 36 RBIs and five home runs. He spent three seasons at Stanford before being chosen by the Rockies in the sixth round of the 2022 revįew.
