Hurricanes to be without Antti Raanta for at least two weeks

Antti Raanta, the goaltender for the Carolina Hurricanes, has a lower-body wound that will keep him out of the game for at least two weeks.

Following the group’s day skate on Saturday, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour reported to reporters on Raanta.

In the next phase of Carolina’s 5–2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche, Raanta, 34, took over for starter Pyotr Kochetkov. However, he did not return until the third period.

With one shutout, a 2. 99 goals against average, and an NHL-worst. 872 save percentage in 24 games ( 20 starts ), the goaltender is 12-7-2 this season.

Raanta has played for Carolina, the Arizona Coyotes ( 2017–21 ), the New York Rangers ( 2015–17 ), and the Chicago Blackhawks ( 2013–15 ). He has a 139-80-29 record, 2. 48 GAA, and . 915 save percentage in 277 games ( 251 starts ) over the course of 11 seasons.

The Finn is currently on a one-year,$ 1. 5 million deal with the Hurricanes, and after the season, he will become an unrestricted free agent.

The Hurricanes will host the New Jersey Devils on Saturday and will dress in Hartford Whalers clothes in remembrance of the team’s past home before moving to North Carolina.
