Nathan MacKinnon exits Colorado Avalanche loss with injury

Nathan MacKinnon, a Colorado Avalanche All-Star, left his team’s 4–0 loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday night after falling headfirst into the ice in the next period of the game.

Before skating the chair on his own, MacKinnon fell behind the Panthers ‘ online. He sat down next to his friends and quickly made his way down the tunnel to Colorado’s bag area, never to be seen again.

Following the defeat, Colorado coach Jared Bednar claimed that MacKinnon left the bench so that the coaching staff may seem to his neck, but he provided no further information. The Washington Capitals did last face off against the Avalanche on Tuesday.

The Avalanche fought on Saturday, MacKinnon or not. In addition to Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Reinhart, Eetu Luostarinen, and Aleksander Barkov scoring goals for the Panthers, Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves in his second shutout of the year.

Barkov broke an 18-game dryness by scoring his primary objective since Dec. 16. In that time, he scored 19 goals, adding two more on Saturday evening.

With 85 points entering sing on Saturday night, MacKinnon is the second-leading scoring in the league. In his 18:19 games on the ice, he had one picture on net and two blocks. After being futile in just one sport since November 18, he was kept off the scoresheet for the second straight match.
