Anti-Israel Protesters at New York University Arrested

On Monday night, anti-Israel protesters at New York University ( NYU) were detained.

Officers from the New York Police Department ( NYPD ) reportedly began making arrests amongst a crowd of anti-Israel protesters around 8:30 p. m. , according to the New York Times.

According to the report, the arrests occurred after NYU officials issued a warning to protesters that they could face possible consequences if they did not leave the school courtyard.

After school officials claimed the anti-Israel demonstrators had broken through walls and were acting in a “disorderly, destructive, and antagonizing fashion, ” officials reportedly moved in to make arrests. ”

Police officers are seen trying to clear activists out of riot equipment in video posted to X.

Anti-Israel demonstrators at Yale University were detained on Monday morning in connection with their participation in an camp on the university’s school.

Lots of anti-Israel activists, including Isra Hirsi, Rep. On Thursday, the daughter of Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was detained in connection with their participation in a camp that had been set up on Columbia University’s yard on Wednesday morning.

In support of the anti-Israel camp that Columbia University initiated, many pro-Palestinian student organizations have held rallies and demonstrations at the University of North Carolina, Boston University, and Ohio State University.

The White House issued a statement on Sunday labeling the anti-Israel demonstrations “Antisemitic, unconscionable, and dangerous. ” President Joe Biden issued a separate statement addressing the anti-Israel protests and the “alarming surge of Antisemitism ” happening in “schools, communities, and online. ”

In his speech, Biden continued to attribute the anti-Israel protests as being “blatant Antisemitism ” that is “reprehensible and dangerous. ”
