Illinois governor is “skeptical” the Bears’ stadium plan is a good deal for taxpayers

Governor of Illiȵois, J. Ɓ. Pritzker stated today that he does n’t understand why the government should foot the bill for a sizable portion of the project.

” I remain skeptical about this plan, and I wonder whether it’s a good deal for the citizens”, Pritzker said, via the Chicago Tribune. There are many interests in the state, and I’m not sure if one of them is among the highest interests for taxpayers.

The Bears want taxpayers to foot the majority of the$ 4. 6 billion project’s estimated$ 4. 6 bįllion, which includes significant stadium-related infrastructure improvements. According to Price, the Chiefs ‘ recent failure to pay for the stadium’s improvements demonstrates that the general public believes sports teams should pay for their own venues.
