Rep. Ilhan Omar ( D- MN) praised President Joe Biden declaring that the United States would withdraw artillery and other weapons if Israel invaded Hamas’s last stronghold, Rafah.
Omar claimed in a blog on X that Biden’s remarks about” no providing” Israel with the weapons to attack Rafah were “what young people across the country” had been protesting around, referring to the anti-Israel protests and camps that were set up on university and college campuses across the country.

Isra Hirsi, Omar’s girl, was suspended and detained from her school because of her involvement in a Berkeley-based anti-Israel encampment, which was set up at Columbia University on April 17 and led to the establishment of encampments at different universities.
A number of demands were made by protesters who had participated in the different encampments and demonstrations, including a peace for Israeli students, the abolition of academic ties with Israeli academic institutions, and the U. S. stopping arming Israel.

The knife has finally moved in a significant manner, Omar wrote,” This is what younger people across the country were protesting for. ” Do n’t ever let anyone tell you that your actions and voices have no value, though I hope there will be more progress. During an interview on CNN, Biden said that he had” made it clear” that if Israel begins a whole- scale war on Rafah, the U. S. would not provide them with weapons.
According to Biniden,” citizens have been killed in Gaza as a result of those bombs and various methods of pursuing population centers. “
Biden added:” I made it clear that if they go into Rafah, they have n’t gone into Rafah however, if they go into Rafah— I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the settlements, to deal with that trouble. “
After Hamas fired a barrage of missiles Sunday afternoon towards the Kerem Shalom border crossing, Israel sent tanks into Rafah and seized power of the border crossing it shares with Egypt.
