At Least 23 Shot Friday into Sunday Morning

At least 23 people were shot, two of them fatally, Friday into Sunday morning in Mayor Brandon Johnson’s ( D) Chicago.

One of the deadly murders occurred on Saturday at evening in the 3000 block of West Warren Boulevard, according to a report from ABC 7/ Chicago Sun-Times. When someone opened fire on a white sedan and escaped, killing a 49-year-old man. The male received a headshot.

About two hours later, at 1: 50 a. m. , a man whose age is not known was found dead “in the 3800 block of West Flournoy Street”. He had also been shot in the head.

The Chicago Sun- Times maintains a databases, which shows 148 people were killed in Chicago January 1, 2024, through May 4, 2024.

On April 21, 2024, Chicago Police Department official Luis M. Huesca was fatally shot just before 3 a. m. while returning home from his work with the agency, according to Breitbart News.

The suspect in Huesca’s shooting dying was discovered hidden under a fall in an apartment on Wednesday, according to NBC 5 and taken into custody.
