Hostages Ate Poorly, Slept on Benches; Waited up to Two Hours for Bathroom

Family members of launched Israeli hostages informed reporters Sunday that the hostages had been compelled to sleep on benches throughout their seven-week captivity; that they’d to endure waits of up to two hours for the toilet; and that they have been typically denied meals.

Adva Adar, granddaughter of freed Holocaust survivor Yaffa Adar, 85; and Merav Mor Raviv, cousin of Keren Munder, 54, spoke to reporters in a press convention organized by MediaCentral Jerusalem.

Adar mentioned that her grandmother had counted the times of her captivity, and that she had misplaced weight throughout her time as a hostage.

Raviv added:

They have been consuming, however not usually, and never on a regular basis. Keren informed me that there have been days that they didn’t get meals, solely pita bread or issues like that. They misplaced — Keren and her mother, Ruthie, misplaced, every one in every of them, round, between six to eight kilos, and they don’t seem to be that tall. They ate a number of rice and bread …. I do know that she informed me that after they wished to go to the toilet, how they’d to knock on the door, and typically, after which they have been ready [for] it to be opened, and typically they have been ready one and-a-half hours, or two hours, to go to the toilet. Raviv added that the hostages appeared as if they’d misplaced weight, though most have been mentioned to be in good bodily situation.
