Federal Election Commission data reveal that the lead attorney for the “hush money” case against former president Donald Trump was contacted by the Democratic National Committee in 2018.
Matthew Colangelo, who was President Joe Biden’s acting associate attorney general and spent two years in the current government’s Justice Department, joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office as top counsel in December 2022.
The attorney received$ 12, 000 from the Democratic National Committee for “political consulting” in two bills of$ 6, 000 on Jan. 31, 2018, FEC records show.
The DNC’s payment to Colangelo were first reported by Fox News Digital.
