Last week, although, Senate Democrats blocked the Laken Riley Act from being moved forward for passage within the Senate. As a consequence, Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) mentioned he’ll introduce the laws as an modification to a funding invoice that the chamber should go.

“We simply don’t believe that another American family needs to experience the tragedy like the one that befell the Riley family,” Budd mentioned. “And that’s why we need to pass the Laken Riley Act today.”
