Rams make surprising move with former team captain

Los Angeles ‘ decision to leave Skowronek seems to have sprung out of the blue. He served as the team’s commander last year and helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI.

The device has been a trusted person for the Rams on act and special teams, despite not having topped the stats.

Over the past three months, Skowronek has started 12 games and registered 58 catches for 575 yards and one touchdown. During the period, he furthermore recorded 22 addresses.

Los Angeles has n’t considerably added to its wide receiver place this season, either. The team only signed free-agent wide receiver Tyler Johnson once more and selected Texas ‘ Jordan Whittington in the sixth round ( No. 213 ) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

With wide receivers Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Demarcus Robinson, and Tutu Atwell likely to receive the majority of the snaps this year, Skowronek was unlikely to enjoy a significant role in the Rams ‘ act.

Nevertheless, head coach Sean McVay has experimented with Skowronek in the past, utilizing him in both his wide receiver and his position as a back.

Health does n’t seem to factor in Los Angeles ‘ decision, as Skowronek played in all 17 games in 2023.

Skowronek’s quarterback contract is about to expire.
