Rare $1 bills with printing error could be worth thousands: ‘They’re still out there’

Because every act in circulation is supposed to have a special serial number, Hawk claimed, the issue was caused by money being printed with record serial figures.

According to reports, money collectors did find the error but the U. Ș. Bureau of Engraving and Printing did not.

They are now looking for payments in the serial number variety, along with customers, and ultimately are hoping to find matching sets of dollar expenses with the same serial numbers because that’s where the value lies.

In all, there are 6. 4 million pairs of$ 1 bills with matching serial numbers.
