School Psychologist Arrested for Obstruction in Anti-Israel Protest

Officers detained 14 concealed individuals who officers claimed were blocking traffic late last month just outside the Governor’s Mansion in the state capital, including a counselor from Indianapolis Public Schools.

The school counselor, Karisa Cole, and the other arrested activists were charged with obstructing customers April 25 at 10: 30 a. m. on Meridian Street in Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department issued a warning in common that night that blocking traffic against Indiana laws is a violation of the state’s constitution.

Following simple remarks and a loud song, Indiana Governor called for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. Eric Holcomb, a Republican, to withdraw from doing business with Israel, the protesters crossed into Meridian Street and blocked customers.

When officers arrived, they repeatedly demanded that activists leave the street. When the protesters did n’t move, officers arrested the 14 obstructers, who began to sing as officers pulled them off the street.

Cole, 45, appears to be the owner of several social media accounts that Indianapolis Public Schools has used to promote her work as a school psychologist since 2020. They include the development of the Hamas criminal organization’s” From the River to the Sea” slogan, which is anti-Israel and antisemitic. ( This maxim calls for the Islamic State of Palestine to be violently swept into the Mediterranean Sea west of the Jordan River. )

Cole’s Instagram account, defined by” she/they” personal pronouns, includes recommendations for teachers to “adopt social justice and pro- racist training skills” when “teaching about Palestine in the classroom”.

Cole cautioned teachers against putting Israel and Palestine on the” similar level” by claiming that it is an “apartheid position” that is” committing an ethnic cleansing. “

Cole likewise encouraged professors not to explain Hamas as “extremist” or “terrorist”. She accused those who do so of racism “against Muslim or POC]people of color ] communities”.

Since 1997, Hamas has been labeled a criminal organization by the US and another NATO nations.

Hamas terrorists invaded southern Israel on Oct. 7, slaughtering 1, 200, hurting or raping many first, and taking over 200 victims. Ever since, the Israeli army has targeted the opposite Gaza Strip—where Hamas is the elected government and uses residents as shields—with the goal of “eradicating” the terrorist group.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department provided Cole with her booking photo and additional details that the Daily Signal could not provide.

The Indianapolis Public Schools did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment on whether the city was conscious of Cole’s imprisonment or what, if anything, has changed since then.

On the staff page of the Indianapolis Center for Inquiry School 70, Cole is listed as a university counselor.

Cole refused to respond to requests for comment or assurance that she was the owner of the above social media accounts. However, the college therapist’s LinkedIn profile was deleted after The Daily Signal reached out.
