TV series about Shohei Ohtani ex-interpreter’s gambling scandal in development at Lionsgate

Television screens are now displaying the articles.

The pleasure organization announced on Thursday that Lionsgate Television is developing a staged series based on the former speaker of Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani.

The show will follow Ohtani’s rise, including his record- setting 10- year,$ 700 million contract with the Dodgers in December and the news months after that Ohtani’s next- interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, reportedly stole$ 17 million from the baseball icon to pay off gambling debts.

In response to the claims, Mizuhara was fired and turned himself in to national investigators. According to the U. S. Department of Justice, Mizuhara has just agreed to enter a guilty plea to bank scams related to the incident. Mizuhara’s trial is scheduled for May 14.

The line may be produced by Tony Award-winning sportscaster Albert Chen.

Lionsgate Television is the ideal partner to take this incredible tale to the panel, Delman said in a release. ” With a strong track record of creating provocative, boundary-pushing series, Lionsgate Television is the best. ” Alfred’s extensive sports journalism background will also help us connect the dots and understand the startling turn of events that have occurred on the international stage. “

Delman is well-known for his roles as producers on Broadway’s” The Book of Mormon” and” Death of a Salesman” as well as his roles in the television series” Station 11 . “

Chen wrote a book on sports gambling,” Billion Dollar Fantasy”, and served as a senior editor at” Sports Illustrated”, where he covered baseball.

Since Pete Rose, this is the biggest sports gambling scandal in major league baseball, and it centers on its biggest star, which MLB has snared at, Chen said in a press release. We’ll get to the heart of the narrative, which involves betrayal, treachery, and the trappings of wealth and fame.
