J.J. Watt: I told DeMeco Ryans I’ll play if the Texans need me

J. J. Watt says he’s ready, willing and able to play for the Texans this time, if head coach DeMeco Ryans needs him.

Watt stated at his Saturday donation ball game that he informed Ryans that he would perform for the Texasans if they believed he would be able to help him.

” I’ve had 12 fantastic years in this category, and I’m very happy to include left feeling great and well-educated,” Watt said. ” I told DeMeco last year, I said,’ Do n’t phone unless you absolutely need it, but if you ever do call, I’ll be there. ‘ And he is aware of his obligation to contact only when necessary. Because I’m going to stop training the way I’ve been, he knows that I’ll be there for him if he ever really needs it, even though this time is his last year. I do n’t anticipate that happening — they’ve got a very good group”.

The 35- season- old Watt played for the Texans from 2011 to 2020 and subsequently played for the Cardinals in 2021 and 2022. Last year was his first year of pensions, and now he’s making clear that he’s open to coming out of retirement.

Watt’s comments come just as Pat McAfee inquired about a possible Watt return for the Texas Rangers. Caserio did never rule out the possibility.

Whether or not Ryans “absolutely needs” Watt to return or no, Watt has today established his willingness to do so if the Texans want him to.
